The Hawaiian Nene Goose is endangered and can be found on all the Hawaiian Islands. The images here represent Nene that I have photographed at Haleakala National Park and in Hanalei on Kauai. Many have been raised in captivity and have banded legs with numbers for researchers to track their progress. Hikers who encounter the Nene are encouraged not to feed them. They are very curious and talkative birds.
